The “Chede Agricultural Development Project” was launched in 1986 by the Muambong rural community in the Bakossi region of Cameroon’s South West Province in response to the severe economic crisis that hit Cameroon and other African countries in the mid-eighties.

The project has since evolved into a self-financed and self-powered community development venture seeking to improve production standards and techniques, reduce post-harvest losses, and diversify into commercial agriculture by encouraging the production of fresh fruit and vegetable for export to Europe.
